Rebrand all components of a preexisting company.
After extensive research into the history of Books-A-Million, my goal became to revive the company by giving a local feel to an international business. In order to achieve this goal I chose to refocus the company on their original passion: literature. The name Anthology is directly associated with the world of literature, while also nodding to the diverse collection of products the company offers. The tagline “Discover your passage” was designed to entice readers to linger in the store and find their next novel adventure.
Specific to the nature of the company, I designed my touchpoints to be welcoming and warm. The touchpoints have a handmade feel and enable this large company to feel more like a local bookstore. Inspiration for the logo was drawn from the A letterform of the company name and the association of a keyhole leading to adventure.
